Calm little morning
Good old times, when I used to simply watch cartoons and play games
Things are different for the kids of these times. They have access to many things that I could never even imagine. AI, social media, extremely fast computers in the palm of our hands. Crazy mega corporations aiming to take control of the entire planet through surveillance, but that is a separate issue.
It would be just about now that I’d be watching some good old Pokemon on the TV while playing on my Gameboy at the same time. Things were very simple. I enjoyed childhood. No responsibilities, no worries, other than school bullying I guess. There was a time when the bullying was too much, that I started skipping school and spending the entire time in the arcade. I did not have a lot of spending money, so I’d just watch others play, or try to decide which games would give me the most value for time. It was wrong to skip school of course, but I did learn a crucial skill that I did not know would be extremely helpful in life.
Time management. I still live my life the same, I do my job with this value in mind. If I were to name it, I’d call it “Time-Value Optimization”. The point is not having a schedule. It isn’t a part of this optimization. In anything I do in my daily life, I attempt to see the value that it brings me. Do I learn something new? Do I discover new facts? Do I simply waste my time?
I add the action on a scale in my head. Here’s what I come up with:
Brainless scrolling: Absolutely worthless. Waste of precious time. Gain nothing, give everything.
Reading a book: Very relaxing, entertaining as well. Risk of huge time sink for value if not careful
Watching a movie / dedicated video (Non-algorithm decided): Relaxing, certain value for time, no risk of losing more time afterwards
Spending time with family: Absolute must, but inside it I nest another process so that we get the most of our bonding time.
Some could say that this is a very robotic way of doing things, but I guess this is how it goes for me, with my autism I cannot help but put everything on scale.
New stuff
I got a funny little app called SlapMac that farts every single time you slap the MacBook, and creaks when I move the lid. It is extremely hilarious. That was a spur of the moment thing I went with, good job me. We are having fun making the laptop fart.
I started getting into DbD once again for my video game fix. Funny moments, sad moments but still fun. I just dislike seeing people taking the games they play too seriously. If I had an option to only play with easygoing people I would. Then again the game is designed around hot chases so I doubt that would happen.
Wife got a big belly now. Looking forward to getting the baby delivery.
All in all, it was a relaxing nice weekend. I'll end it on a good note by adjusting the styling of the website a little bit, then whatever happens, happens. Till next time!
